A stall for makers: list what you make, keep every dollar, and build a following of people who love handmade.
If you make things by hand — pottery, knitwear, soap, jewellery, woodwork, prints, candles, leather goods — you already know the hard part isn’t making them. It’s finding the people who will treasure them, and doing it without handing a slice of every sale to a platform. Yaybe was built for exactly this: a free shop for handmade goods, with no commission, that sends buyers to your own payment page.
Why makers open shop on Yaybe
No fees on what you make. Listing is free. Selling is free. There is no percentage taken from a sale, no “payment processing” surcharge from Yaybe, no monthly plan you need before you can list your tenth mug. Buyers pay you on the payment link you already have — PayPal, Stripe, Square or your own checkout — so the only fees are the ones your payment provider charges you anyway.
A stall that looks like yours. Your logo, your banner and your colours on a layout designed to show handmade work well: big photos, room for a story, and a Details table that lists material, size, colour and whether it’s made to order. Yaybe checks your colours stay readable so the shop is always easy on the eyes.
Handmade is a filter, not a fence. On Yaybe, “handmade” is an attribute buyers can filter by across every category. Someone browsing mugs can tick Handmade and see yours next to other makers’ work — not buried under mass-produced imports. The cross-category handmade page collects everything made by hand in one place.
Followers who come back. Shoppers follow your shop. When you finish a new batch or post a photo from the studio, it shows up in their feed. Regulars are how a small maker builds steady sales, and Yaybe treats following as a first-class feature rather than an afterthought.
Reviews that mean something. Only buyers whose purchase you confirm can leave a star rating. That protects you from drive-by one-star reviews and tells new buyers that the five stars on your ceramic bowls came from people who actually own one.
What sells well as handmade
Ceramics and pottery, knitted and crocheted wear, hand-poured candles and soap, small-batch skincare, leather wallets and belts, woodturning and cutting boards, quilts and textiles, jewellery, art prints and originals, hand-bound notebooks, pet accessories, baby and kids’ items, and made-to-order pieces of all kinds. If you take custom orders, set the price mode to Starting at or On request and buyers will contact you before paying.
Three steps to your first sale
- Sign in with your email. We send a six-digit code — no password, no card.
- Open your shop and add a product. Name it, pick Handmade and your category, add photos with alt text, set the price, and paste your payment link. Variants (sizes, colours, scents) can each have their own link.
- Submit for review and share. A moderator takes a quick look, your stall opens, and you share
yaybe.com/your-shopwherever your people are.
Tips for handmade listings that get found
- Fill in every attribute. Material, size, colour, care instructions, made-in. Each one becomes a filter that leads buyers to you, and a line in the structured data that search engines read.
- Photograph on a plain background first, then add a lifestyle shot. Buyers want to see the object clearly before they imagine it in their home.
- Say how it was made. Wheel-thrown or slab-built, hand-dyed, small batch — the process is part of what people are buying.
- Use tags for what attributes don’t cover: cottagecore, wedding favour, gift for teachers. Up to 13 per product.
- Post from the studio. Short posts with a photo keep followers engaged between product launches.
