Marketplace rules
What you can't sell on Yaybe
Yaybe is a market for things made and sold with care. A short list of things is not allowed.
Draft for review. These terms have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.
Most things people make, curate and offer are welcome on Yaybe. The items below are not, regardless of local law. Listings that break this policy are removed, and repeat problems close the shop.
Not allowed
- Weapons and weapon parts. Firearms, ammunition, magazines, silencers, replica firearms, switchblades, brass knuckles, and any item designed to injure.
- Drugs and drug paraphernalia. Illegal drugs, cannabis and cannabis products, prescription medicines, and items for making or using them. Tobacco, vaping products and nicotine.
- Alcohol. Unless you hold the required licence and say so in the listing; we may ask for proof.
- Counterfeits and infringing goods. Fakes, replicas, “inspired by” items using someone else’s brand, unauthorized copies of art, patterns, fonts, software, music or video, and items that use trademarks or characters without permission.
- Adult content. Pornography and sexually explicit material or services.
- Live animals and products from endangered or protected species (ivory, certain furs, corals, shells).
- Human remains and body parts, including bones, teeth and organs.
- Hazardous materials. Explosives, fireworks, flammable or toxic chemicals, radioactive material.

- Medical claims. Products claiming to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease unless approved for that use.
- Financial instruments and gambling. Currency, gift cards, securities, lottery tickets, raffles.
- Personal information and access. Lists of people, account credentials, hacking tools, devices for bypassing security or surveillance without consent.
- Hateful or violent content. Items that promote hatred, violence or discrimination, or that glorify tragedies or crimes.
- Government and official items. IDs, licences, uniforms, badges, transit passes.
- Stolen goods and anything you don’t have the right to sell.
- Services that break these rules, plus services such as essay writing for academic credit, fake reviews, or anything that involves deception.
Allowed with care
- Food and drink. Follow the food safety rules where you sell, label ingredients and allergens, and say how it ships.
- Cosmetics and skincare. List ingredients and follow labelling law.
- Vintage and antique items. Describe condition honestly; some categories (for example antique weapons or fur) are still prohibited.
- Digital downloads. Only content you created or have a licence to distribute.
- Sharp tools and knives for kitchens, crafts and workshops are fine when sold as tools.
